The KZN MEC for Education, Mrs I Cronje, has approved the request to change the College name from Sivananda College for Further Education and Training to Elangeni College for Further Education and Training. This amendment was published in the Provincial Gazette of KwaZulu-Natal on 23 March 2006, as Notice No. 508, 2006.
We would like to assure you that this change will not affect service delivery! As our vision statement clearly states, we will continuously aim to provide quality education and training to meet the demands of the communities we serve.

From January 2007, FET Colleges will also be offering the National Certificate (Vocational). The NCV is a new and modern qualification at NQF levels 2,3 and 4. This full equivalent of a senior certificate allows specilisation in 11 respective fields. The NCV will be introduced at NQF level 2 in 2007, level 3 in 2008 and level 4 in 2009. Minimum requirement: Grade 9 or equivalent.
